My prof said something really interesting today. She said that Brokeback reminded her of the usual plot/storyline that Yaoi manga usually has. I never really thought about it until she mentioned it in class today…and she’s quite right. It never really occured to me that yaoi manga is exactly about gay love. However, yaoi is intended for a female audience and Japanese homosexuals don’t really like yaoi. So…how would Japanese homosexuals react to “Brokeback Mountain”?? Hmm….
